Event Description:

Still want to enjoy your favorite holiday meals without feeling guilty? Join the St. Mary’s of Michigan Diabetes Support Group to discuss healthy alternatives you and your family will celebrate about!

St. Mary’s of Michigan Dietitian, Danielle Schmidt, MS, RD will present “Keep up your healthy habits during the holiday season” on Monday, November 13 from 4 to 5 pm at St. Mary’s Health Education Center, Classroom 6.

“Many people with diabetes struggle over the holidays because such a big emphasis is placed on food and family gatherings around food, says Schmidt. I encourage all those with diabetes to attend to learn some new tips and recipes for eating healthier over the holidays. Family and friends are also welcome!”

At the support group meetings, a topic is discussed, and there are opportunities to ask questions, share ideas and more. Meetings are free and new members are always welcome.

Reservations are required as seating is limited. Call the Diabetes Educator, Joelle Krempa, RN at (989) 907-8575 to RSVP.

The St. Mary’s of Michigan Health Education Center is located at 800 S. Washington Avenue in Saginaw; classroom 6 is on the second floor.

The St. Mary’s of Michigan Diabetes Program is accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
