| Duties: | The Journeyman Plumber installs commercial heating and plumbing by using job knowledge, experience and skills. The Journeyman Plumber must demonstrate dependability, professionalism and act as a positive representative of the company.
• Directly communicate and work with Foreman/Superintendent to execute duties for installing plumbing systems.
• Read and understand blueprints and mechanical plans in order to effectively execute your job for installing the plumbing apparatus, a commercial project.
• Identify hazardous or dangerous situations while informing the Foreman/Superintendent.
• Install all types of plumbing fixtures and trims including floor sinks, mop sinks, hand sinks, toilets (both wall and floor mounted urinals and tubs).
• Install roof drains, carriers, p-traps and trap primers
• Ability to work with pressure reducing valves, check valves, backflow preventers, steam traps and other plumbing equipment.
• Install various piping, fittings and tubing which includes black piping and fittings for natural gas, copper piping and fittings and PVC/ABS piping and fittings.
• Install plumbing and piping plumb, level and square to structure and in a neat and orderly fashion
• Conduct integrity testing of plumbing and piping while documenting results.
• Record keeping capabilities to neatly and legibly record results of a project.
• Solder with different types of solder.
• Glue PVC pipe and ABS pipe together.
• Use a pick or shovel for digging and back filling. |
| Experience Required: | • Above average understanding of plumbing equipment, tool & processes.
• Have an understanding of Michigan plumbing codes.
• Ability to be part of a high functioning team with an emphasis on treating coworkers, supervisors and customers with respect and a spirit of cooperation.
• Graduation from high school or G.E.D.
• Must have a valid Journeyman Plumber license (would consider someone willing to test for their license).
• Insurable driver
• Ability to pass background check
• Can pass drug screen (urine & hair) |
