| Duties: | Key Areas of Responsibility:
The apprentice will be required to pass progress assessments and undergo evaluations while being assigned progressively more responsible duties.
-Assist Service Technician with routine service calls and scheduled equipment maintenance
-Opening, cleaning and preparing boilers as needed and for state required jurisdictional inspections
-Safety awareness including completion of safety training programs
-Performance of routine maintenance related to boiler and combustion systems
-Performance of annual ASME CSD-1 testing
-Ensure safe operation of equipment within limits established by the equipment manufacturer via monitoring meters, gauges, and computerized controls
-Check safety devices and operating controls, record data, and identify potential problems
-Support field operations with pickup and delivery of parts and material
-Participate in continuing education; attend classes or seminars to learn about new equipment, procedures and technology and perform independent study related to the industry |
| Experience Required: | Education/Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Formal apprenticeship or training programs, post-secondary or vocational training a plus
-Areas of interest, study and understanding should include:
•Combustion and Combustion Systems
•Industrial / electrical controls
•General mechanical pipe fitting
Skill Requirements:
-Hands-On mechanical aptitude
-Ability to complete training program
-Ability to understand and apply various codes and industry standards
-Proficient use of hand and power tools
-Manual dexterity
-Intermediate computer skills
-Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with office personnel, co-workers, customers, vendors, partners and contractors
-Ability to perform work at elevations above 6 feet
-Capable of driving company service vehicle |
