| Duties: | DESCRIPTION:
Performs intermediate human support work administering preliminary and threshold hearing screening tests to children and special groups and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the assigned personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Using audiometer, administers preliminary and threshold screening tests for preschool children, school children, and other groups to identify those with deficiencies.
• Prepares audiogram forms, classroom forms and other required paperwork for Hearing and Vision Program Coordinator, parent of tested child, and school system.
• Completes follow-up on all medical referrals including posting doctors reports, phone calls, or re-mailing original paperwork; sometimes involves locating parents or guardian.
• Schedules hearing screening dates with school personnel for preschool and elementary schools.
• Drives to various testing locations, carries equipment and supplies, sets up testing area and tests equipment, and coordinates with staff to gather children for testing.
• Works in office filing, making up packets, and doing paperwork. Verifies insurance as needed.
• Works in other programs during summer months. |
| Experience Required: | QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Special Requirements:
- Obtain State of Michigan Certification in Hearing Screening upon hire.
- Valid drivers license in the State of Michigan. |
