The Chamber community is invited to a ribbon cutting for the Saginaw County Courthouse Legal Self-Help Center! The center is located inside the Saginaw County Courthouse, 111 S. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602.
The ribbon cutting for the Legal Self-Help Center may be outdoors, we'll update you as we get closer to the event. Public parking is available along nearby streets and select parking lots.
The center has four computers (kiosks) for the public to access legal self-help tools. There will also be information about the courts and community resources. There will be a staff member onsite to help individuals navigate the legal self-help website, MichiganLegalHelp.org. The staff member, referred to as a Navigator, will help explain legal information, but cannot give legal advice. The Legal Self-Help Center will be free to use for the public.
The ribbon cutting is being held on Law Day, a day to honor the rule of law and the importance of law in society. It was established by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1958.
