The Saginaw Choral Society is pleased to invite the public to celebrate the rich and joyous sounds of the season with its annual holiday show, Once Upon a December. Led by Artistic Director Jeremiah J. Kraniak, this concert will take place at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2018, in the historic Temple Theatre.
Enjoy an afternoon of festive fun as SCS ushers in the month of December and the holiday season with classics like; Sleigh Ride, The Christmas Song, O Holy Night and Brian d’Arcy James’ Michigan Christmas. Come hear touching stories like the Christmas Truce of World War I and the history that gave birth to the Jewish Hanukkah celebration of today, all read by members of the community. Once Upon a December is sure to be a wonderful collection of classic carols, festive holiday music and heart warming stories the whole family will enjoy!
When asked about this concert, Saginaw Choral Society’s Artistic Director, Jeremiah Kraniak said "The holiday season has always been about connecting with others. Within our own community, we celebrate a multitude of diverse holidays with friends and family. That is what this concert is about! Through songs and stories, we will connect with one another and celebrate the great traditions of the Holiday Season. My hope is that all of you let Saginaw Choral Society be a part of your own holiday tradition!"
Doors will open at 2:00pm and the Beer-for-a-Buck Bar/Mixer will again be available in the Temple Theatre balcony lobby. Enjoy multiple craft beers & cider, mix and mingle with friends and family, and even hang out with the choir before the show!
The Saginaw Choral Society will also be hosting their annual SCS Sock Drop! Warm the hearts (& feet) of the less fortunate by bringing a new pair of socks to donate. Drop boxes will be available in the Temple Theatre lobby the afternoon of the concert and remain there through December 14th. All donated socks will be delivered to multiple organizations in the area benefiting those in need.
A FREE concert shuttle service will be available compliments of Great Lakes Bay Financial. The shuttle will run one hour before and after the concert from the Chamber of Commerce building at 515 N. Washington Ave.
Reserved seating is $25, $20, or $10 and student tickets are just $5. Tickets can be purchased from the Temple Theatre Box Office at www.templetheatre.com or (989)754-7469. The concert is open to the public and welcomed to families and children of all ages.
