Help the YPN Give Back
Each quarter, the Saginaw County YPN participates in different service events. The first event for 2020 is to support the needs of the CAN Locker. The CAN Locker is the newly designed space at the CAN Council Great Lakes Bay Region developed to provide new and gently used clothing, shoes, backpacks, personal care items, baby equipment, and more to the children placed in foster care. Often, these children are placed with no personal items and may have been removed from their home with only the clothes on their back. These items help to meet the child's immediate needs and lessen the financial burden on the foster families.
From February 27th through March 26th, the YPN will be collecting new or gently used clothing to fill the CAN Locker. Although all sizes are appreciated, they are seeking big and tall clothing (XL, 2XL, 3XL) for children and teens of all genders.
If you'd like to help, please bring your donations to the After 5. CAN Council representatives Katie Bell Pearce, Community Engagement Manager and Ryan Willard, Prevention Education Coordinator, will be on-site during the event to answer questions and thank those who donate.
