Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital proudly announces the launch of Wellness Wednesday, a monthly series designed to inform and educate the community about health and wellness topics, introduce new providers and physicians, and highlight services and programs.
The inaugural Wellness Wednesday will be December 18 from 1-2 p.m. at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in the Lecture Theater located in the Health Education Center, 800 S. Washington Avenue in Saginaw. The program is free and open to all community members.
Falls are a leading cause of injury and death for older adults. Each year, up to 30% of community dwelling adults fall each year and about 20% of falls cause physical injury. Ascension St. Mary’s experts will present information about Falls Prevention during the Wellness Wednesday program. Deb Rievert, Director of Rehabilitation & Respite Services and Mackenzie Kerr, Manager of Guardian Angels Respite Care Services, will share helpful information about slips, trips and falls and what you can do to prevent them and the physical injuries which often accompany a fall.
Pre-registration is not required. For more information, call 989-907-5607.
