Join us for a lively discussion about ancient Greek mythology!  Our book for July is the Odyssey by Homer (translated by Emily Wilson) just in time for the release of Christopher Nolan’s 2026 film adaptation with Matt Damon in the title role.  The Odyssey follows the hero Odysseus as he spends ten years trying to get home to his island kingdom of Ithaca after the close of the Trojan War, as he has adventures with cyclopes, witches, sea monsters, sirens, and shades of the Underworld!  There are many good translations of the Odyssey out there, but I recommend the one by Emily Wilson, which is very accessible for newcomers.  Order your copy from a site like Amazon or similar, and come to the meeting with questions, comments, observations, or just have a copy of the book with you!  No pressure, and a good time learning about mythology is guaranteed!  You may call the Reference Desk at 989-755-0904 to reserve your copy, or send e-mail to reference@saginawlibrary.org.
