| Duties: | Service, diagnose, repair/replace malfunctioning components/equipment, adjust, and maintain boiler systems, burners and combustion systems, and ancillary equipment used in industrial/commercial boiler systems and fuel fired process heating applications.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
? Safety awareness. Safety and health in our business is paramount and part of every operation
? Startup, commissioning, troubleshoot, repair, and shutdown of boiler system and combustion related equipment
? Perform routine maintenance related to boiler and combustion systems
? Perform Annual ASME CSD-1 / NFPA 85 / Boiler MACT testing / NFPA 86
? Ensure safe operation of equipment within limits established by the equipment manufacturer via monitoring meters, gauges, and computerized controls
? Check safety devices and operating controls, record data, and identify potential problems
? Service, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor systems with the use of specialized equipment and electronic test instruments
? Perform owner training relating to new equipment and systems
? Participate in continuing education throughout career; attend classes or seminars to learn about
new equipment, procedures and technology; independent study related to the industry |
| Experience Required: | Education/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Formal apprenticeship or training programs, post-secondary or vocational training
- Minimum 3-5 years field experience
- Areas of study and understanding should include:
• Combustion systems
• Industrial / electrical controls
• General mechanical pipe fitting
Skill Requirements:
- Hands-On mechanical aptitude
- Significant combustion aptitude and experience
- Electrical and Industrial control aptitude
- Proficient use of hand and power tools
- Manual dexterity
- Intermediate computer skills
- Able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with office personnel and
co-workers, customers, vendors, partners and contractors
- Ability to perform work at elevations above 6 feet
- Capable of driving company service vehicle |
