The Public Libraries of Saginaw is happy to be the recipient of a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Public Library Services Grant. Funding from this grant affords us the opportunity to implement Fun with Coding programs. Through this technology grant, we are offering curriculum-based coding clubs, utilizing the online program Google CS First. These after-school clubs give children, tweens, and teens the opportunity to work independently in developing coding skills in areas such as art, music, storytelling, and game design. In addition, participants will learn team building skills and self-confidence, as well as, logical and sequential thinking skills as they prepare for 21st Century jobs. Programs are geared toward different age groups, so contact each branch for details. Registration is required. This project is funded (in part) with a Library Services and Technology Act grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
