Event Description:

Celebrate creativity this August with the Saginaw Art Museum's Family Day: Q-tip Pointillism! Pointillism is a way of painting in which small separate dots of pure color are used to form images. Georges Seurat, who at first worked with the Impressionist painters, first used this technique in 1886. Other important artists were Paul Signac, Camille Pissarro and, in some paintings, Vincent van Gogh. Use works from these artists as inspiration to create your very own piece of art with Q-tips and paint!

This activity is provided free of charge to children ages 15 and under, and is free with regular admission for anyone over 15 ($3 for students or seniors; $5 for adults). Please note that the number of participants is capped at 20, and that young children must be accompanied by an adult. As such, RSVP's are encouraged, though not required. To do so, please contact Lauren Grotkowski at staff@saginawartmuseum.org. All art materials will be supplied by the museum. Certain materials may become hazardous if used improperly - always follow instructions given by staff leader. We hope to see you for an afternoon full of learning and fun.
