About Monique Ella Rose:

Monique Ella Rose is a singer/songwriter whose style blends with Soul, R&B, Blues, Jazz & Funk. She is quickly earning a reputation as one of Michigan's most exciting talents.

Monique Ella Rose’s dynamic contralto voice has the ability to take you on a ride that leaves you feeling downright good. Her soulful approach puts you in touch with some of her inspirations like Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott, Betty Carter, and more.

“Music is an outlet that allows me to express myself in full form. I want my music to reach people where they are. In listening, it’s my hope that they are encouraged to keep pressing through this life, while grooving to some good ol’ soul music,” shares Monique.

Born in Saginaw, raised in Detroit she was immersed in music at a very young age. She contributes her strong musical roots to her family and growing up in church. With her father being an artist and poet and her mother being an author, playwright, and educator, creativity was bound to flow through her veins.

She first launched her first single, “Move On” in 2014 and has been moving crowds across the country ever since. Monique’s impeccable raw talent has earned her a spot on stages opening for artists like Grammy Award winners Anthony Hamilton, Chrisette Michelle, Maxwell, Fantasia, and Grammy Nominees Marsha Ambrosius, Dwele’, Raheem DeVaughn, and more. One of her proudest moments was opening for the late Dr. Maya Angelou.

Monique Ella Rose is expressive, captivating, and fluid in her vocal movements taking you from jazz to pop. The stage is where she bares her soul with her impromptu approach to connect with her audience.

Her new album, “Such is Life”, touches on the ups, downs, and in-betweens of life’s journey. “My writing for this album was inspired by life around me, love, heartbreak, what I felt were failures, successes, and society. I believe everyone will find something to relate to,” she shares. No matter what we go through, we must always strive to be better than yesterday.” After listening to “Such is Life” you will not only feel inspired, but motivated to keep chugging along with a little flair.
