Leola Wilson, Saginaw, president of NAACP, SaginawIntermediate School District Board,and SVSU Board of Control, received SVSU’s most prestigious Distinguished Service Award. She shares some of the life challenges of her maternal
and paternal grandmothers who migrated to Saginaw,Michigan, during Roethke’s lifetime.
