Victorious Believers Ministries (VBM) will commemorate over 34 years of ministry and community service in the Great Lakes Bay Region on Sunday, October 28 during its annual “Vision Day” service that will be accompanied this year with a special Mortgage Burning Celebration.
The 50,000 sq. ft. edifice located in Buena Vista Township was built in 1999, seats over 1200, and includes a full-size gymnasium, commercial-grade kitchen, educational wing, and administrative offices. 19 years ago, the membership took a leap of faith and moved from their former modest size church on Grant St. on the south side of Saginaw into the 4.6 million dollar building to better accommodate its growing congregation.
The impressive brick worship structure would eventually come to be known as “a beacon of light” in the Saginaw community. The signature purple and white “V”, which serves as the ministry’s logo, radiates as an everpresent symbol of hope on the highway as people travel daily along Interstate 75.
The historical mortgage burning services for VBM will be held at 11am and 5pm at the church. At the conclusion of the 11am service, there will be a large unveiling of a 15ft commemorative wall detailing the history of the ministry and celebrating the life and legacy of its former visionary, the late Bishop Marvin C. Pryor.
During the 5pm service, Pastor Christopher V. Pryor along with the VBM Board of Directors will ceremonially burn the mortgage for the building and the members will also pay special tribute to its co-founders, the late Bishop Pryor and Evangelist Ruth C. Pryor.
In addition, the ministry will recognize its many community partners and longtime financial supporters. The services are free and opened to the public. Evangelist Joyce Rodgers of Denton, TX will be the guest speaker for both services. Evangelist Rodgers is an author and renowned international speaker. At the 5pm service, Rodgers will be joined by Shana Wilson Williams of Detroit, MI. Williams is a national Gospel recording artist known for her giftedness in songwriting and worship hit ballads like “Give Me You” and “In The Room”.
