| Duties: | Key Areas of Responsibility: -Safety awareness. Safety and health in our business is paramount and part of every operation -Startup, commissioning, troubleshoot, repair, and shutdown of boiler system and combustion related equipment -Perform routine maintenance related to boiler and combustion systems -Perform Annual ASME CSD- 1 testing -Ensure safe operation of equipment within limits established by the equipment manufacturer via monitoring meters, gauges, and computerized controls -Check safety devices and operating controls, record data, and identify potential problems -Service, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor systems with the use of specialized equipment and electronic test instruments -Perform owner training relating to new equipment and systems -Participate in continuing education throughout career; attend classes or seminars to learn about new equipment, procedures and technology; independent study related to the industry Typical Equipment Serviced: -Boilers -Boiler Sequencing Controls -Burners -Water Level Controls and Indicators -Pumps -Variable Frequency Drives -Motors -Blow Down Separators -Control Valves -Parallel Positioning Combustion Control -Surge Systems -Fuel Oil Equipment -Deaerators -Air Compressors -Heat Exchangers -Industrial Control Panels -Economizers -Ovens and Process Combustion Systems |
| Experience Required: | Education/Qualifications: -High school diploma or equivalent -Formal apprenticeship or training programs, post-secondary or vocational training -Minimum 3-5 years field experience -Areas of study and understanding should include: •Combustion systems •Industrial /electrical controls •General mechanical pipe fitting Skill Requirements: -Hands-On mechanical aptitude -Significant combustion aptitude and experience -Electrical and Industrial control aptitude -Proficient use of hand and power tools -Manual dexterity -Intermediate computer skills -Able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with office personnel and co-workers, customers, vendors, partners and contractors -Ability to perform work at elevations above 6 feet -Capable of driving company service vehicle Other Expectations: -Candidate to provide and use personal hand tools -Compliance with Company’s Employee manual -Work uniform and jacket provided. Appropriate dress code is required. -Candidate to provide and use safety toed work boots -Consult with department supervisor and management -Support emergency 24 hr. on-call weekly rotational work schedule with other service department technicians, including before/after hours, weekends and holidays -Support other divisions within the company as needed. |
