Duties:DuPont’s Healthcare Industries Material Site (HIMS) has multiple opportunities open for Extrusion Technicians in Hemlock, MI! The Extrusion Technician position works a 4-3-3-4 rotating 12 hour shift schedule. Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Operating process related equipment and plant process control systems in a safe, environmentally responsible manner Optimizing plant performance by monitoring process equipment and conditions using information systems including: temperatures, pressures, and flow rates Collecting and reporting plant measurements related to performance, asset utilization, quality, costs, yield, environmental health and safety, production rates, etc. Adjusting control systems and manually operated equipment based on process and lab data. Determining root causes of deviations in process, product or equipment performance through use of troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis Identifying opportunities for improvement and implement improvements when appropriate Performing daily tasks efficiently using the appropriate computer tools and software Ensuring operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goals. Completing individual duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.
Experience Required:The following are required: High School Diploma/GED equivalent Proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word and Excel) and the ability to learn new systems quickly. Willing and able to work all applicable shifts on a rotating basis including weekends and holidays and work overtime when needed Willing and able to lift 50 lbs, lift hoses, bolt flanges, and operate valves and similar equipment routinely Communicate effectively across a diverse work group Follow procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation Perceive, identify, and respond to plant and site alarms Note: For consideration for the position, one must include an updated resume, participate and be successful in an online assessment and interview process, and pass a drug screen, background check, physical screen, etc. The following are preferred: Associate’s Degree in Chemical Process or Chemical Technology Chemical Process certificate Previous experience in a manufacturing, military, or related role Other technical, chemical, or manufacturing certifications
