Duties:Community Engagement Coordinator The CAN Council is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect through its nationally accredited and evidence-based education, intervention and advocacy programs. Founded in 1979, the CAN Council has consistently grown over the past 42 years to meet the needs of the community’s children and families, providing services in Arenac, Bay, Huron and Saginaw counites. For more information, visit CANcouncil.org. Job Purpose: Responsible for coordinating and implementing strategies that mobilize the Bay County community to advocate, volunteer and give. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associate degree accepted with appropriate experience; excellent communication, interpersonal skills; self-starter and self-disciplined; timely and accurate; outgoing personality, excellent at building rapport. Occasional travel throughout the entire service area of CAN Council required. Flexibility to participate in evening/weekend engagements. Must have clean driving record. Job Responsibilities Community Engagement: Understand and effectively communicate CAN Council’s mission, programs, and impact to the community through presentations, written communication, and networking. Represent CAN Council and schedule representation at community events including Chamber of Commerce and civic group meetings. Provide agency tours to educate the community about CAN Council services. Conduct follow-up with constituents to encourage continued engagement. Work collaboratively with the Administration Team to plan and execute fundraising and public awareness events. Build strong relationships and collaborations with community partners, volunteers, and supporters. Collaborate with CAN Council Program Directors to promote prevention and advocacy efforts in the community. Assist with content creation for CAN Councils bi-monthly e-newsletter. Assist with the creation of engaging social media posts that highlight CAN Council’sprogramming and volunteer projects. Facilitate third-party fundraiser requests including constituent relationships and eventlogistics. Facilitate volunteer and fundraising committee meetings in collaboration with theAdministration team. Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, screen, train, and match volunteers to the needs of the organization. Create volunteer job descriptions in collaboration with CAN Council staff. Build stewardship through volunteer engagement and recognition. Maintain volunteer profiles, conduct background checks, and send acknowledgements usingthe constituent relationship management database. Administration: Assist with front office coverage as a part of the Administration team. Other duties as assigned to achieve the mission of the organization.
Experience Required:Bachelors (Preferred) Volunteer management experience: 2 years (Preferred) Drivers License (Preferred)
