Event Description:
Graduates of the SVSU Master of Social Work Program will be prepared as Advanced Generalist Social Workers. Our unique immersion-based method provides students with real-world experience in clinical practice, community work, program development, and agency research. Students learn alongside faculty mentors in diverse community settings as part of every course in the program. SVSU has two different paths for applicants to earn an MSW from SVSU. Our Advanced Standing path is designed to streamline earning this advanced degree for BSW graduates from accredited institutions, earning their degree within the last 5 years, with a 3.25 GPA or higher. Our Regular Admissions path provides more practice and experience for students who earned their BSW more than 5 years ago or earned a bachelor's degree other than a BSW and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Click on one of the links below to learn more! Our Advanced Standing cohort begins each Spring (May) semester while our Regular Admissions cohort begins each Summer (June/July) semester.
