Do your kids want to learn how to fish, but don’t have a pole? Saginaw County Parks and Recreation has your answer –our free fishing festival on Saturday June 4th at Haithco Recreation Area, 2121 Schust. The first 200 youth registered will get a free fishing pole and volunteers will be on site to assist in rigging poles and help get your family fishing. This Family Catch and Release Fishing Festival begins at 8:00 am and ends at 11:00 am on June 4, 2022. Registration deadline is 9:00 am on June 4, 2022. Adults with a valid Michigan fishing license are welcome to fish with youth participants. Trophies will be awarded for the family who catches the largest fish and the most legal sized fish. Additional giveaways and door prizes available!
Thanks to our local partners & volunteers, there will be ‘fishing buddies’ to help rig poles and teach the children how to fish! Saginaw Bay Walleye Club will be onsite providing buckets & crawlers, and displaying three tournament boats for folks to check out!
