Event Description:
Family business leaders may run their companies full-throttle -- "faster than a speeding bullet" -- but when it comes to deciding how to transition their business, many would prefer to hide in a phone booth. For the Stevens Center for Family Business's 2022-23 kick-off event, David Specht will take a somewhat humorous but nevertheless essential look at the crucial family business process of succession planning. He'll identify four all-too-common archetypes that family business leaders can display: Captain Immortal, Dr. Shhhhh, Oblivious Man, and Ms. Reality. He'll point out the existential dangers of ignoring succession planning and provide a framework for taking the steps necessary to preserve the family business legacy into future generations. Registration is Required.
