Event Description: The Girls on the Run 5k is open to all community members of all ages! For the 13th year, Girls on the Run Saginaw Bay will host a 5K on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Affectionately known as the “Reindeer Run”, the event will take more than 1000 participants through the streets of Downtown Saginaw, followed by the Positive Results Downtown Saginaw Holiday Parade. Participants receive antlers and are encouraged to wear festive attire. Community members will run alongside Girls on the Run participants in a celebratory 5K unlike any other! The GOTR 5K serves as the culminating experience for Girls on the Run participants in 3rd-8th grade from Saginaw, Bay and Arenac and Tuscola counties, as they complete their ten weeks of self-esteem and healthy lifestyle training. Girls on the Run seeks to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The goal is to create a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
