Once again in 2016, the Saginaw County Medical Society will hold the county’s largest FREE Health Fair. This year’s Health Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at Horizons Conference Center, 6200 State Street in Saginaw.
There will be 80 medically related booths at the Health Fair, and a number of area physicians in attendance to speak with guests.
Information will be available on Alzheimer’s, assisted living, bariatric surgery, breast health, breathing equipment, cancer, diabetes and diabetic shoes, distracted driving, escaping domestic violence, eye care, heart health, home health, hospice, medical insurance, mental health and substance abuse, nursing homes, physical therapy, spine care, stroke, women’s health and more.
Also available are free health screenings which include: Balance, blood pressure, body mass index, cholesterol, depression, diabetic foot exam, glaucoma, glucose, hearing, lung function, pre-diabetes, skin cancer, sleep apnea, spine, stroke and much more. Raffles for gifts donated by participating vendors will be held during the fair and prizes will be given away all day!
Michigan Blood will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone who tries to donate will be entered to win a $100 Meijer gift card. If you plan to donate, please bring your photo ID or two pieces of non-photo ID, and eat and drink plenty of water before donating.
Dump your drugs at this year’s Health Fair! The Saginaw County Health Department and Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department will be on hand to collect your unused, unwanted and expired medications.
Attendees wishing to donate non-perishable food items to the East Side Soup Kitchen may bring items to the Health Fair and drop them off at the Soup Kitchen’s truck in the parking lot.
The Saginaw County Medical Society Health Fair is planned in cooperation with CMU Health, Covenant HealthCare, Health Delivery, Michigan CardioVascular Institute, the Saginaw County Osteopathic Society and St. Mary’s of Michigan.
