Proceeds from the event will remain in the community by supporting the purchase of a digital breast tomosynthesis mammography system. Breast tomosynthesis is an advanced type of mammogram that can offer improved cancer detection. It also provides a higher diagnostic accuracy compared to conventional mammography. The new imaging technique provides clearer images, greater accuracy in early detection, fewer unnecessary biopsies and improved patient comfort.
Every day, St. Mary’s of Michigan professionals provide a safe environment for healing. That includes filling operating and procedure rooms with state-of-the-art technology. In the past 18 months, the St. Mary’s of Michigan Foundation has funded over $2 million in new capital equipment, community programs and services.
