Event Description:

The Roethke House Fall Writing Workshop Series
Tuesday, November 20th
Coffee and snacks at 5:00, workshop from 5:30 to 7:30

This fall, the home in which Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Theodore Roethke spent his childhood years and served as the inspiration to many of his famous poems will host new generations of creative writers as they draft and share their own works with peers in our upcoming series of writing workshops. The workshops will be led by Jared Morningstar, a former Michigan Creative Writing Teacher of the Year. Morningstar, who also teaches English to 9th and 10th grade students at the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy and is an Adjunct Professor of English at both Saginaw Valley State University and Delta College, will lead discussions on writing techniques and famous poems and short stories, give thought-provoking and meaningful prompts to inspire original pieces, and facilitate feedback sessions.

The workshops are appropriate for high school and up and for creative writers of all skill levels.
All writers are welcome.

Join us for a productive evening as we highlight and foster today’s writing talent.
$10 per workshop.

Reservations required. 989-928-0430
