Event Description:

"On the Road" with Cathy Cassady who has deep roots to The Beat Generation that extend back to Jack Kerouac's 1951 mention of her birth in the original scroll of what would become an American Literary Masterpiece. As the daughter of Carolyn and Neal Cassady - two of Kerouac's closest friends and creative inspirations - Cathy had an intimate view growing up. Her career included a position as the Publications Coordinator for the Stanford Medical School Cardiology Division and as Editor of "The Cardiogram Newsletter". These experiences help her current efforts assisting her siblings in curating their parents' unpublished poems, memoirs, novels, and paintings. Join us for an evening of stories and insight celebrating their legacy. Made possible by Dow Visiting Scholars and Artists Grant awarded to SVSU.
Reservations required for $22.00 dinner catered by Sullivan's Restaurant. Call 989-928-0430
