Saginaw Township Community Schools Hold an All-Staff School Safety Training

Saginaw Township Community Schools held an all-staff Rebschool safety training day at Heritage High School on Monday, October 2nd, 2023.

The training focused on four topics: Fire Safety, Stop the Bleed, CRASE Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events, and Threat Assessment and Cybersecurity. The district-wide professional development day was led by local law enforcement personnel. Students received a district planned day off to allow for certified and noncertified staff to attend.

“It was a fantastic day of learning for our STCS staff,” said Superintendent Bruce Martin. “With good reason, we spend a great deal of time perfecting our craft when it comes to teaching and learning, but the other half of our mission is to keep kids safe. We are so thankful for our community partners and for sharing their expertise with us.”

The Saginaw Township Community Schools is comprised of 8 schools including alternative and advanced programs. The mission is to educate, guide and challenge all students to develop lifelong learning skills necessary to successfully contribute and compete in a rapidly changing global society.
