Andrews Hooper Pavlik PLC (AHP) is pleased to announce the promotion of 12 team members across our nine offices.
Kevin Hunt, CPA to Senior Manager in the Saginaw office. Hunt joined AHP as a staff accountant in 2014, was promoted to senior accountant in 2016, and manager in 2019. He graduated from Northwood University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting.
Hunt practices heavily in both tax and audit and is a niche expert in not-for-profit 990 returns, as well as Single Audits. He provides tax and audit services to not-for-profit entities, higher education, manufacturers, and financial institutions. Hunt also works with staff and seniors, training and answering questions regularly. In addition, he is a frequent presenter at internal trainings.
Terry Crawford, CPA to Senior Manager in the Flint office. Crawford has over 36 years of accounting experience. He joined AHP as a manager when AHP acquired Fromholz, Paauwe & Baker, P.C. in 2021. Crawford graduated from Michigan State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting.
Crawford specializes in preparing and reviewing business and individual tax returns and compilation engagements. He also assists with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Flint office.
Crawford is involved in his church and church groups, and volunteers with Outreach, a food pantry to help support families in need, local sporting events, and MSU alumni events.
Maryrose Robison, CPA to Senior Manager in the Grand Rapids office. Robison served two years as an intern with AHP before joining the firm in 2016 as a full-time staff accountant. She was promoted to senior accountant in 2017 and to manager in 2020. Robison graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting.
Robison specializes in managing external audit services for not-for-profit organizations and employee benefit plans. She also has experience providing audit and review services to closely held businesses and higher education institutions, along with providing partnership tax services.
Robison is a member of the Gand Rapids Junior Chamber attending many of their meetings and volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
Maggie Tucholski, CPA to Senior Manager in the Grand Rapids office. Tucholski joined the AHP team in 2015 as a full-time staff accountant before being promoted to senior accountant in 2017 and to manager in 2020. She graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with both a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy and a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education.
Tucholski helps oversee the tax area in the Grand Rapids office. She provides tax preparation and planning services to closely held businesses, not-for-profits, individuals, and several other industries. She also helps lead firm-wide education and training for new staff.
Tucholski is a member of the Grand Rapids Junior Chamber and helps organize an AHP team for the Gilda’s Club West Side Walk each year.
Katryna Finney to Manager in the Bloomfield Hills office. Finney joined AHP as a staff accountant in 1997 before being promoted to senior accountant in 2014. She graduated from Northwood University where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and finance.
Finney specializes in trusts and 990’s in the tax area. She has superb technical ability regarding trust returns, gift tax returns, and not-for-profit organization returns. She also works with complex individual and business income tax returns.
George Wellings, CPA to Manager in the Greater Lansing office. Wellings served as an intern for AHP for two seasons prior to joining AHP as a staff accountant full-time in 2018. He was promoted to senior accountant in 2021. Wellings graduated from Michigan State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and a Master of Science degree in accounting.
Wellings specializes in the tax area managing small business, individual, not-for-profit, insurance, and employee benefit plan clients. Additionally, he is the in-charge on many engagements while monitoring and supervising staff and interns.
Wellings has been very involved with AHP recruitment events and career fairs in the greater Lansing area, as well as firm-wide trainings.
Hunter Gayeski, CPA to Senior Accountant in the Bay City office. Gayeski interned at AHP for one busy season before being hired full-time as a staff accountant in 2022. He graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy degree.
Gayeski works on tax, financial statement audits and reviews, and IT audits. As a senior, he will be expanding his involvement on these engagements and moving to the in-charge role.
Brennan Scherwin, CPA to Senior Accountant. Scherwin served two years as an intern during busy season with AHP before joining the firm as a full-time staff accountant in 2021. He graduated from Northwood University with both a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree.
Scherwin serves as a preparer and reviewer of tax returns. In addition to these duties, he is an in-charge on employee benefit plan audits and has been instrumental serving as a buddy to new hires and helping with training to both new hires and interns.
Melissa Strauch to Senior Accountant in the Owosso office. Strauch has over 15 years of accounting experience as she served as a seasonal tax preparer prior to joining AHP as a staff accountant in 2022. She graduated from the University of Michigan Flint earning both a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Business degree.
Strauch has many years of experience with tax preparation for individual and business tax clients. Her experience has enabled her to become an in-charge for many tax clients this past year. In addition to tax responsibilities, she provides bookkeeping and accounting services for clients including quarterly and annual payroll taxes, corporate and individual tax projections, and monthly/quarterly/year-end financial statements.
Catriona VanderWal, CPA to Senior Accountant in the Ann Arbor office. VanderWal completed a summer audit internship working in a controller’s office prior to joining the AHP team as a staff accountant in 2021. She graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy degree.
VanderWal works on complex tax returns and audits in the not-for-profit, governmental, and higher education niches. She has served as a lead trainer on SurePrep and will be advancing to detail review for tax returns.
Oren Whiteside, CPA to Senior in the Grand Rapids office. Whiteside served as an intern for one busy season with AHP prior to being hired full-time as a staff accountant in 2022. Whiteside graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting.
Whiteside works primarily with tax clients serving as a detail reviewer and preparer of more complex tax returns. He also regularly assists with staff and interns. Whiteside also performs tax research and independently reviews issues as they arise in the preparation and review phases.
Amy Wilson to Senior Accountant in the Midland office. Wilson joined AHP as a full-time staff accountant in 2019. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Wilson works primarily as an in-charge on employee benefit plan and governmental financial statement audits, as well as Single Audits. She also works on a number of not-for-profit audit engagements for clients.
