Grapp Lerash Among Honorees at Michigan Association of CPAs 'Celebrate' Award Event |

The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) announced the winners of its 2023 awards program, Celebrate, which recognizes the outstanding contributions of individual and organizational leadership today, while paving the way for the leaders of tomorrow. The Celebrate awards will take place in person at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi on November 9 at 5:00 p.m. to support CPAs and organizations making positive contributions to the future of the accounting profession, the economy, and the business world. The event will also support future generations of CPAs through fundraising for the Michigan Accountancy Foundation which helps introduce students to accounting and aids CPA hopefuls in their achievements through scholarships, educational programs and other opportunities. Hosted by Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist Paula Tutman of WDIV-TV Local 4, the event will highlight ten recipients. The MICPA will recognize the following individuals and organizations with awards: - Accounting Teaching Excellence – Deborah Habel, Associate Professor of Accounting, Mike Ilitch School of Business, Wayne State University
- Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award – Robyn Fuller Butler, Founding Partner, J&F Advisors, PLLC
- Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award – Brett Karhoff, Shareholder, Hungerford Nichols
- Excellence in Accounting Award – Firm – Grapp Lerash
- Excellence in Accounting Award – Team – The Detroit Lions Finance Team
- Impact Award – Ashley Johnson, Partner, J&F Advisors, PLLC
- Impact Award – Firm – Wipfli
- Rising Star Award – Amanda Sayn, Manager, ShindelRock
- Student Champion of the Year – Rami Dabaja, Schoolcraft College Accounting Student
- Volunteer of the Year – Alex DiBartolomeo, Director, UHY LLP
